Keyboard shortcuts

Default keys shown. The app’s Help → Keyboard shortcuts shows your configured keys.

Start a session

Start with no session open. Dictation needs voice setup; wait for the ready cue before speaking.

Start and finish

Start with no session open. Dictation needs voice setup; wait for the ready cue before speaking.

Dictate and release to finish
Hold Fn

From idle, hold while speaking. Release to finish and paste into the focused text field.

Start hands-free dictation
Double-tap Fn

From idle, tap twice to start. Tap once more when you’re ready to finish.

Start typing
Triple-tap Fn

From idle, tap three times to open a draft. The microphone stays off.

Finish and paste
Tap Fn

In an open session, focus your destination’s text field, then tap. If the Sesh editor has focus, the result is copied instead. Sesh never presses Send.

Cancel the session
Fn + Esc

Hold Fn and press Escape to cancel the open session.

Dictate and type

During an open session. Fn + Shift and Fn + Control act when you release the keys.

Dictate into your draft
Hold Fn

Place the cursor in draft or copied text. Hold to dictate; release to insert words and keep the session open.

Continue hands-free
Fn + Space

While holding Fn to dictate, press Space. You can now release Fn and keep speaking. A fresh tap finishes.

Switch between dictation and typing
Fn + Shift

Switch input during a session. During dictation at the cursor, this continues the same speech hands-free.

Mute or unmute the microphone
Fn + Control

During voice capture, toggle the microphone while screenshots and copied text keep collecting. During dictation at the cursor, stop speech and return to typing.

Return to your draft
Tap ⌘

During a typed session, tap Command once to focus the draft.

Screenshots and copied text

During an open session, with the relevant capture option enabled in Settings.

Add selected text
⌘C twice

Hold Command and press C twice to add selected text from another app.

Take a screenshot
Double-tap ⌘

Tap Command twice, drag to select an area, then release. Escape cancels. Requires screenshot access.

Remove the newest capture
Double-tap ⌃

Tap Control twice to remove the latest screenshot or copied-text capture.

Edit your draft

In the expanded draft. Select a screenshot or copied-text block to work with it.

Move through text and captures
Arrow keys

At a screenshot or copied-text boundary, select the capture. Up/Left moves before it; Down/Right moves after it. Consecutive cards select directly; Return adds a line after, Shift-Return before.

Insert text around captures
Return / ⇧Return

With captures selected, Return starts text after them; Shift-Return starts before. Typing preserves selected captures.

Edit or preview a capture
⌘Return

Edit selected copied text or preview a screenshot. Double-click does the same.

Delete selected content
Backspace / Delete

Remove selected text or a capture. Immediately after a capture, Backspace selects it first; press again to delete.

Jump to the end
⌘↓

Move the cursor to the end of the draft.

Collapse the draft
Esc

Escape first leaves copied-text editing or clears a card selection. With a caret active, it collapses the panel.

Undo or redo
⌘Z / ⇧⌘Z

Undo or redo text edits, deleted captures and applied format changes.

Change a copied-text format
Tab / ⇧Tab

With copied text selected, cycle forwards or backwards through quotation and code formats. Changes apply immediately; Command-Z undoes them.

Open copied-text format options
Space

With copied text selected, focus its format selector. For a block, press Space or Return again to open the menu.

Leave copied-text editing
Esc / ⌘Return

Keep your edits and leave the copied text selected. The session stays open.

Reuse saved sessions

Finish your current session before copying a saved prompt.

Copy a saved prompt
⇧⌘C

In Library session details, copy the prompt and select it for Paste again.

Paste again
⌘⌃V

Focus a destination’s text field to paste your latest completed session, or the saved session you selected with Library Copy.
